How to Moisturize your Face during the Day

It's dry, it's oily, it's combination, but most of the time, my skin is (also) sensitive to the wind, the sun, and to beauty products.  At the ripe-old age of 41, you'd think that my skin would pick a personality and stick to it.

NO SUCH LUCK!

Whether it's dry or oily, one thing never ceases to amaze me: My skin always requires hydration.  What type of hydration? Well, that's determined on the time of year, whether or not I will be mostly indoors, outdoors, on vacation, wearing make-up/foundation, or if it's that unfortunate time of the month.


Thankfully, I am lucky to live close to the beach, and limit any type of air conditioning, making my environment naturally moist.  During the day, my skin is naturally dewy, but can easily get oily when applying the wrong moisturizer.

I also have the occasional hormonal breakout, and my skins Achilles Heel is a long recovery time from scars or minor cuts and scrapes.  With all those factors in play, it's no wonder that I am always on a quest to find new and different moisturizers!


Considering my personal needs, and the current environment/spring season, these daytime moisturizers are my current Spring-time favorites:

Indoor/Extra Hydration

Chanel's Hydra Beauty Gel Creme is perfect for the days that I will be (mostly) indoors
and my skin will need a little extra moisture to counteract the drying effects of air conditioning!
I wear sunscreen and make-up over the Hydra Beauty Gel Creme.

Every Day Hydration

The Simple Rich Moisturizer is a light lotion that is perfect for the days that I will be outdoors
or in mostly natural environments.  I wear without makeup, or with sunscreen and make-up if I go outdoors.

During Break-outs

Unfortunately, I still break-out.  When I do, I need a moisturizer that will both calm my
psychotic skin and help prevent scaring, Kiehl's Blue Herbal Moisturizer is my go-to skin potion!  I wear sunscreen over the moisturizer but limit makeup to prevent clogging my pores.
