The Belle of the Ball

It's not often that I am stumped...But I was.

Before you give me credit by thinking that Jeopardy or some other braniac activity stopped me on my tracks, let me cut to the chase and set things straight: My closet stumped me.

Yes, my closet.

This was a very real issue that could very well stop my travels to Blog Her this year.  Seriously.

Not only did my presentable clothes shrink (while my girth widened), my shoes were a major issue because they are either flat with no support, or too high to wear for more than a couple of hours.

In the casual fashion capital of the world, West Los Angeles, this is not an issue.  I can get away with wearing flip-flops and be done with it.  But presenting to a few hundred bloggers at the most important blogging conference in the world threw me in the limelight.

I had to look presentable, while being both comfortable and fashionable.  Not an easy task for someone that is 5'10" and a size 16.

This is where my Fairy Godparents, called Earthies and Eliza Parker, came to the rescue:

They BOTH shipped me an entire outfit weeks before BlogHer.  (Dress and Shoes)

This is the beautiful Dress I received from Eliza Parker

These are my beautiful, comfortable and super stylish "Verias" by Earthies.
Although I liked the Veria Too when I first them online, no one could predict how much I would love them when I opened the box.  Once I tried them on, I couldn't stop wearing them-even wearing them several times before I arrived at BlogHer.

Not only could I walk in the Veria Too all day, I would also get asked by mere strangers "where I got my shoes?"

This is the outfit I wore for the Ricki Lake Show taping.
Yes, they are that fashionable...

But most importantly, ridiculously comfortable to wear.  Maybe it's the arch support, or the wedge heel.  Quite possibly it's the super lush suede, or the ankle strap that hugs, not chokes your ankle.  Whatever it is, the actual build of the Veria Too and the look makes it a must have for any women's closet.

LOVE how my Earthies Veria Too look when coupled with bright nail polish.

My only regret is that I don't have a full-length photo of me wearing both my Eliza Parker dress and Earthies Veria Too shoes during BlogHer.  What I do have is plenty of amazing memories from sitting at the front of my panel with a few hundred colleagues, and several friends that complimented me...and made me feel like the "Belle of the Ball."

Now it's your turn to feel beautiful, be fashionable and comfortable when you enter to win a pair of Earthies of your choice.

Stay pretty and fashionable - but most importantly "Good luck!"

  2. Those shoes look amazing. I am a shoe freak. In fact I build my wardrobe around my shoes :) Being 4'11, it's hard for me to find shoes that give those precious couple of inches and are comfortable at the same time. Earthies Veria Too look like they are exactly what I'm looking for!

    1. You are TINY! The Veria Too will definitely give you height - but the best part is: you aren't going to loose comfort when wearing them! Thanks for stopping by and good luck to you :)

  3. I am not a fan of heels, not because I don't love how they look, but because they always hurt so bad after only a couple of hours! I would love to wear heels more often if the shoes were actually cute and comfy! So, I would love to try these out because they sound amazingly comfortable!

    1. I know what you mean about uncomfortable heels: thus my obsession with flats. But these shoes have taken me from Time Square to BlogHer and back - and not a blister in sight. Seriously comfy! Thanks for stopping by and good luck to you :)
